Exterior Signage Solution for Buyers Barricades

Exterior Signage Solution for Buyers Barricades

Monarch Signs met contacts from Buyers Barricades at a local community BBQ cook-off after work had been referred between the two companies. Buyers Barricade had outgrown their current location and were making the move to a bigger location, leaving them with signage needs to properly indicate their move. The company had started in 1984 when Steve Buyers, who was a superintendent at Walker Construction, realized the need for competition among barricade companies. Within 24 hours of being left in the lurch for three days with no service, Buyers Barricade was formed with only a ’65 Chevy pickup, a 16-foot trailer, and a new look at barricade services. The company has the same focus on customer service and commitment as it did in 1984 and has experienced steady growth. At the new location, there was minimal existing signage. Buyers Barricades was looking for high-impact signage both for their existing and potential clients. The goal was to help current clients find the new location while also increasing visibility for potential clients in the new area. To make a strong impact, our team used clear acrylic in carrying thicknesses to add dynamic and depth to the sign. We made a complete and cohesive product by matching the colors of the lettering to their specific logo colors. This made it obvious to existing customers that this was their new location while also making that big impact on potential customers using their own colors and branding. This approach to lettering was used both for the building letters and the lettering on their monument sign, which provided extra visibility for clients looking for their location....
Creating a Reverse Channel Letter Building Sign for Keystone Tutoring

Creating a Reverse Channel Letter Building Sign for Keystone Tutoring

Through a Google search, Keystone Tutoring found Monarch Signs while seeking the right sign company for a channel letter project. After looking at our past projects and reviews on Google, they reached out with their building sign issues. Keystone Tutoring, located in Cypress, Texas, is a tutoring service established in 2016 that strives to help students master reading and math skills. Students can attend up to three hour-long sessions a week for a monthly cost with no appointment necessary. The main issue for Keystone Tutoring was the costs estimated for a very high-end sign type, a reverse channel letter sign. Compared to the more traditional channel letters, these are generally a high skill level signage type to create. They are made completely out of aluminum for both the sides and faces with a clear backing that allows the LED illumination that creates a cloud-like effect on the lighting. Not only are these made from more expensive materials, they are very labor intensive, which adds a lot to the cost. To solve their signage issue, our team suggested manufacturing the bottom row of text using flat-cut PVC rather than reverse channel letters. We consulted with the landlord for approval and came up with the perfect solution to get the illumination effect they needed for their business while meeting their budget restrictions. For the backings of the letters, we used a clear polycarbonate that allows lighting in and emits the illumination from the rear of each letter. For that illumination, we used LED lighting. In illuminated signage, we recommend LED lighting since it is light on energy consumption and requires little...
Trailer Graphics Custom Cut for Bayou Land Conservancy

Trailer Graphics Custom Cut for Bayou Land Conservancy

At an event hosted by the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce, we met Bayou Land Conservancy after they recently purchased a trailer to store their event items. Both of our teams saw a great opportunity to promote brand awareness for their cause. Bayou Land Conservancy is the leading conservation easement holder in the Houston region. The organization protects over 12,500 acres of land in the area as one of the most successful land conservation organizations in the state. The organization first formed in 1996 as a branch of the Bayou Preservation Association, which is a Houston-based group that protects the bayou systems in Houston. For the past 20 years, the organization has kept the land-water connection as a motivator of the lands they protect. With such a great cause and rich background as an organization, our team set out to achieve the aesthetic goals of BLC in their new project. Our team has extensive experience cutting and forming vinyl lettering to trailers similar to the one BLC had purchased for their promotional events. For the project, we selected 3M’s IJ180 cast vinyl and their 8518 cast laminate. We chose this vinyl for its long-lasting and easily conformed properties. The laminate was selected to prevent small scratched and wear from cleaning. Additionally, the laminate has a UV barrier to help the graphics stay brighter for longer. From conception to the end of the installation, the project was completed in less than two weeks. The design was a prominent display of the BLC logo with a mission statement and website URL beneath it for brand exposure on the back of the...
Designing New Logo Signage for Flowco Production Solutions

Designing New Logo Signage for Flowco Production Solutions

After being referred to Monarch Sign & Graphics by one of our great clients, Flowco Production Solutions came to us with rebranding signage needs. Flowco has locations across the map with the largest number of locations here in Texas. The company aims to safely maximize the effectiveness of oil and gas wells while also expanding their lifespan. They achieve this with high-performance artificial lift products, all made in the USA. When Flowco came to us with their signage needs, they had just gone through a rebranding process and had recently updated their logo. The first step of the process was getting the new logo on the storefront. However, Flowco also had another issue. As a company without a receptionist, visitors to their location were often confused as to where to go once they got in the building. Visitors seemed to be unsure of which door led to their destination. The company also had issues with unwanted solicitors at their business. Rather than adding more signage than necessary, we helped craft a design that added more text to the graphics to help with foot traffic while keeping all signage simple and easy to read. The biggest part of the process was ensuring everything was well-balanced and nothing was left out in the design. We added directional arrows with descriptors to show customers where to go when approaching the building. We also added “exit only” to indicate visitors were not to use that door to enter the building, leading to an easier navigational experience for visitors. On the front door, we crafted lettering to tell visitors where to check in and...
Custom Illuminated Lobby Sign for Abogado Aly, PLLC in Houston, TX

Custom Illuminated Lobby Sign for Abogado Aly, PLLC in Houston, TX

When Abogado Aly was looking for a new lobby sign for the law firm, he found Monarch Sign & Graphics through a Google search. After looking through our previous work, he decided he would go with us to create a new illuminated lobby sign. The client had a specific vision of a back lit lobby sign with his logo that represented the quality of his law firm and had been searching for a sign company that could bring that vision to life. After speaking with other sign companies and explaining his signage needs, Abogado Aly couldn’t get a return call. However, when Monarch Sign & Graphics got the call, we knew we were up for the job. After the initial consultation, we got to work drawing up our plan of attack to create the best version of the sign as possible. Creating the Sign The first step of creating the sign was deciding which materials would achieve the best look. We decided on custom routed acrylic, formed aluminum, LED light modules and around 500 feet of wire. These materials were constructed together to create a one-of-a-kind illuminated lobby sign. However, the project didn’t come without complications and challenges. The biggest challenge in the project was the design of the letters. Unlike many of our other lobby signs, the letters in the logo are extremely thin. This made them difficult to redesign with consideration of the addition of illumination in the sign. To achieve the right look for the sign, we worked closely with the client at all stages. This helped us stay on the mark with the design to...
Custom ADA Signs for Old Republic Title in Tomball, TX

Custom ADA Signs for Old Republic Title in Tomball, TX

After having partnered with Monarch Sign & Graphics for their business signage at their new location in Tomball, TX, Old Republic Title found themselves in need of ADA Compliant Signage. Old Republic Title Insurance Group has been around since the early 1900s. The business has a focus on providing the best title insurance policies and related real estate transaction and mortgage lending products and services to fit the unique needs of all consumers, lenders, businesses and even government agencies that come to them with insurance needs. After success in the area, they took a brand-new location in Tomball, TX, one of the fastest growing towns in the area. When Old Republic Title came to us for their ADA signage needs, we knew exactly where to start. ADA signs requirements are strictly enforced under the Americans with Disabilities Act. When these signs aren’t properly executed, it’s the same as not having ADA signs at all. This can impact how the signs are both manufactured and designed. The fines associated with non-compliance can be steep, especially for the initial fine. ADA signs can be found many places, including the “big box” stores. However, they can be generic and clash with existing aesthetic, along with other limitations such as finding only restroom signs. At Monarch Sign & Graphics, we produce ADA signs that match the décor of an office while staying fully compliant. Even further, we consider the visual impairments of visitors for all signs in an office, ensuring everyone can navigate an office with equal ease. To match the modern design of Old Republic Title, we used brushed aluminum for the...
